What causes teeth to discolour?
There are many causes for tooth discoloration. Most commonly are the consumption coloured foods and drinks (curries, coffee, tea, red wine). Some medications, aging, smoking and trauma can also cause teeth discoloration. There are various toothpastes or whitening systems on the market which claim to whiten teeth, however none are as safe or work as well as the treatments you can get from your dentist.
A new generation of professional whitening options makes it not only possible but simple to give patients the results they want in the time they have. Whether patients want a confidence boost or just to look their best, whitening remains the most-requested cosmetic dental procedure. But with increasing demands on their time, today’s patients want whitening options that fit their lifestyle and fast results with little or no discomfort. That’s what Philips Zoom! provides.
At KB Village Dental in Sydney’s Lower North Shore, we use the Philips Zoom! WhiteSpeed, (the No. 1 patient-requested whitening brand in the US), which is clinically proven to whiten teeth up to eight shades in 45 minutes (excluding preparation time) and has clinically superior results and efficacy versus other professional whitening alternatives. In a study, WhiteSpeed provided over 50% better results than leading ‘non light’ competitor (immediately following the procedure and after seven and 30 days).
Alternatively, we offer various take home whitening systems available using Ultradent’s Opalescence whitening products. We can take impressions of your teeth, and fabricate a custom made bleach tray (like a very fine mouthguard) which we give to you- along with some Opalescence whitening Gel, which you use to whiten at home over a couple of weeks.
And for patients who have already whitened their teeth and simply want to refresh their smile again, we can supply you with Opalescence Go- disposable whitening trays.
